It’s Never The End Of The World

Failure is something that every human being experiences in their lifetime. But how many of us know how to deal with it?
The first thing most of us do when we encounter failure is go into a state of denial.
Questions ranging from “How could I possibly go wrong?” to “Why is this happening to me?” start occupying a considerable amount of space in our minds. This usually follows a state of realization, wherein the feeling of not having succeeded slowly starts to sink in. And boy, does it hurt.
First thing to do; let it out. Let it all out. Cry, scream, bawl at the top of your lungs. Break something that probably isn’t very expensive.
And then, when your head’s cleared, talk to someone whom you know will understand how your failure has affected/will affect you. Talk to several people, if that’s what suits you. Get opinions from people who have failed in the same endeavors as you. This helps in two ways. Firstly, it gives you a sense of relief that you’re not the only person in the world who is capable of messing things up so bad. Secondly, it helps when you listen to how they’ve overcome their failures and redeemed themselves.
All this might take a lot of time, depending upon what kind of failure it is and the amount of expectations and hopes attached to success.
But before you get there, the most important thing to do is to acknowledge that it happened, and that it is a part of life. Keep reminding yourself that worse things could have happened.
Cry all you want, but not for too long. There will come a time when you have to pick yourself up and move on. And before you know it, you will have moved on to become a better person, having learnt from your mistakes.
